The emergence of concepts such as rights of nature and future generations demonstrates how the notion of legal personality is expanding, to include entities other than the human subject. Veronica Pecile explores the potentials and limitations of these legal tools, questioning the possibility of rethinking modern Western law based on a non-human and “planetary” conception of time.
